{ NiKaya + Michael } Vows in a treehouse

I’ve know Michael for about 15 years. Michael owns a landscape construction business, Maister Landscape and works regularly with my dad, who is an architect. They became close friends and in turn, Michael became a member of our family. I’ve been designing his website and photographing his projects for the past 5 years. When Michael called me on a tuesday to ask if I could photograph his wedding that sunday, I said absolutely! His beautiful bride NiKaya is due next week with their baby boy, and they had originally planned to get married sometime later this year. However, when inspiration strikes, you have to act! NiKaya and Michael told me that it just felt right to do it now. The ceremony was held in the treehouse that Michael had built for his son Laird. It was an intimate gathering, only myself, the officiant, Laird, Michael’s brother Joel, his wife Mandi and their two children joined NiKaya and Michael. It was the most beautiful ceremony I have ever witnessed… just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes. Thank you NiKaya and Michael for inviting me to be there! xoxoxo~ Annie

    Dear Annie,

I don’t know whether your remember me, Michael’s mom, but we met when I was in the US a few years ago. I just wanted to tell you that the photographs you took of Mihael and Nikaya’s wedding, are the most beautiful I’ve seen in a long, long while. When Nikaya sent them to me, I just sat at my computer with tears rolling down my cheeks! I almost felt that I’d been present at the ceremony. Annie, thank you with all my heart for the beatiful job you did!

    Warmest regards
